Commissioning Superintendent - Process Engineering

We are seeking a degree qualified site Commissioning Process Engineer with over 10 years' experience in the Oil and Gas industry with a focus on commissioning & start-up of Client and downstream projects. You will bring deep knowledge of Client process engineering related to Client processing, storage, and transportation. This position is based in the greater Lake Charles, LA area.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Coordinates with client, consultants, project team, disciplinary engineering departments, vendors, and subcontractors

  • Develops and monitors detailed project scope and schedule

  • Prepares basic engineering requirements and basic engineering design data

  • Reviews and interprets design requirements and incorporates into detail design

  • Coordinates scheduling of engineering activities to issue drawings, specifications and purchase orders, assuring receipt of information from client, process licencors, subcontractors and suppliers to meet the overall engineering and construction schedule

  • Coordinates engineering work done by joint venture's structural group and vendors.

  • Reviews and checks drawings, requisitions, technical bid analyses, and specifications relating to structural design; vendors and subcontractors to ensure conformity to BC requirements and regulations.

  • Performs equipment sizing, and safety system design / calculation

  • Computer literate with typical Office packages and typical Process Simulation applications

  • Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

  • Generate process equipment datasheets and Line Designation Tables (LDTs)

  • Leads or attends, P&ID Reviews, Model Reviews, Process Hazard Analysis, HAZOPS and other formal operating and/or hazard assessment groups.

 

Qualifications:

​

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent experience

  • More than 10 years commissioning & start-up engineering experience working on large scale projects

  • Experience with Client liquefaction, petrochemical, NGL and cryogenic natural gas processing is required.

  • Advanced knowledge of engineering technology, codes, standards, in the USA

  • PE in the State of Texas preferred

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills plus demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines.
