Project Coordinator 

Our client, a leading engineering company, is looking for a number of experienced Environmental Specialist to work on a major project based in Kitimat, BC. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of local, provincial and federal environmental regulations.


Duties and responsibilities


  • Actively participating, promoting and engaging others in a culture of safety among employees, subcontractors and clients.

  • Assisting with the general operations of the project to develop project schedules and organize and secure equipment, human and material resources required.

  • Working closely with Superintendents, Foreman and HSE Advisors to ensure daily activities are carried out safely and economically.

  • Overseeing the project to ensure that it is executed on time and delivered economically, efficiently and effectively, all within compliance of the required standards and specifications of the client.

  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress including daily reports, construction schedules, delays, and damages

  • Completing, interpreting, reviewing and approving survey work (Trimble GPS & Total Station equipment) to review and confirm designs as well as contract quantities for payment.

  • Assisting in Setting up, transferring and verifying electronic design models for GPS enabled construction equipment using Caterpillar Accugrade/Trimble Grade Control.

  • Adapting to meet changing priorities, and helping resolve issues and concerns on a timely basis

  • Communicating information clearly and effectively to all co-workers, foreman and Superintendents

  • Listening and carrying out instructions diligently, and speaking up when instructions are unclear, not understood or the hazards are not identified or mitigated

  • Liaising with clients and client representatives to ensure that my client is delivering a quality product within a given timeline at a high level of service

  • Willingness to perform labor-intensive tasks when required

  • 5+ project coordination and survey experience on civil construction projects.

  • Previous early works / earth moving projects.

  • Must be able to use Trimble GPS and Total Station equipment

  • Applicants must have a valid driver license and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and Fitness for Duty requirements.
