Grain Marketing Advisor

Location - Edmonton, Alberta


Our client is looking for a Grain Marketing Advisor in Edmonton, Alberta. The Grain Marketing Advisor will be a part of the grain consulting team and will be responsible for advising clients to make better grain marketing decisions. Working closely with the External Grain Marketing Advisor team members you will provide support by assisting with prospecting activities and face to face meetings.



70% Deliver comprehensive grain marketing services to help farm customers market their grain

  • Accountable for updating client’s individual situation and marketing plan, informing clients of marketing opportunities and executing client strategies and risk management contracts.

  • Using the core product deliverables such as the FarmMaximizer to better understand the client’s account

  • Provide individual client impact from the market reports on a bi-weekly basis

  • Execute the entry and exit of the correct risk management tools

15% Promoting and selling Grain Advisory Services to farm customers

  • Conduct face to face meetings with clients

  • Build productive, long-term business relationships, develop comprehensive knowledge of customers’ business and manage the account to the benefit of the customer by learning about their business, analyzing their needs, and influencing their business decisions in order to provide successful solutions in the primary area of grain, crop inputs, and solutions while working


15% Collaboration with Sales teams

  • Work cross functionally with Sales team to identify new sales opportunities and inform Sales team of services that are currently being provided


  • Post-secondary education in agriculture, marketing, or business or related working experience.

  • Strong knowledge of grain marketing and risk management

  • Good knowledge of the Canadian grain industry, agricultural production and farm management

  • Good working knowledge of grain futures, options and markets

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Basic computer skills, Experience with CRMs would be considered an asset

  • Possess a valid Canadian Driver’s License
